Kell Brook vs Michael Zerafa

Kell Brook (37-2, 26 KO’s) continues his attempt to win a world title in a second weight division when he takes on Michael Zerafa (25-2, 14 KO’s) at the Sheffield Arena on Saturday night.

The fight at Super-Welterweight is Brook's first fight since his impressive early stoppage of Siarhei Rabchanka back in March. That is the former IBF Welterweight champions only bout over the last eighteen months but he seems to have little to fear against his Australian opponent.

Zerafa has fought almost exclusively in Australia and his two bouts outside of his home nation have resulted in two defeats. The only notable name on his record is Peter Quillin who brutally knocked out the Aussie in five rounds back in 2015.

The rest of his record is padded out with mainly journeymen and he doesn’t seem to have the knockout power to concern Brook. Brook will have a different man in his corner for the first time in his career with Dominic Ingle stepping aside and being replaced by John Fewkes. That being said, it should make little difference.

Providing the classy Yorkshireman is fully-fit and is not still suffering from the eye socket issues that hindered his performances against Gennady Golovkin and Errol Spence Jnr he should stop the Australian in the mid-rounds.

Jono Carroll vs Guillaume Frenois

There is also an interesting undercard supporting the main event. Jono Carroll (16-0 3 KO’s) takes on Guillaume Frenois (46-1, 12KO’s) in a final eliminator for the IBF Super-Featherweight world title.

The Dubliner has been in fine form of late and has stopped his last two opponent. The 26-year-old also has youth on his side against the 35-year-old Frenchman.  Frenois is a veteran of 47 bouts and is the current European champion. He is a step up for Caroll despite rarely fighting outside of France and has not lost since a points defeat five years ago.

Neither fighter has ferocious power and a sensible bet looks Carroll to win the eliminator via decision.
