WATCH: James Corden mocks Deontay Wilder whilst he stands behind him

Event date: 05/12/2018

There has been plenty of talk about the Deontay Wilder v Tyson Fury fight this week and the latest celebrity to give his opinion on the bout is James Corden. The British comedian hosts The Late Late Show on CBS in the United States and began mocking WBC heavyweight champion Wilder at the start of his show last night.

Corden first made fun of what Wilder wore whilst entering the ring, saying: "Wilder walked out in a rather unusual outfit. Even Elton John was like "that's a little much". He looks like if a peacock won the lottery. He looks like Donald Trump making a guest appearance on Game of Thrones."

The fight finished as a controversial draw, with most believing that British fighter Fury clearly won having made Wilder miss plenty of his shots and landing a lot of his own. Corden too began suggesting that Fury should have won the fight, saying that he would even say that to 'The Bronze Bomber' himself and saying that the American is "soft" and that he wore feathers because he is a "chicken".

However it was at this point, whilst Corden did an impression of a chicken that the curtain behind him opened and Wilder walked through clutching his WBC belt, recieving a warm applause from the crowd and asking "what were you saying James?". Once the shows host spotted Wilder he soon stopped and tried to dig himself out of a hole and said he had ordered the clothes he wore himself. Wilder told him to stop talking and introduced the show before saying "and I'm Deontay Wilder, WBC heavyweight champion of the world."
